Eric
very much enjoys Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and coming up with disparaging
comments about Ginger Baker’s drumming. He began playing music before
the age of ten focusing on the trumpet and the French horn. In middle school
Eric began playing the drums and followed that up in high school with classical
guitar. He entered college as a music major, but instead decided that math suited
him better academically.
After
earning his B.S. in mathematics from CSULB, Eric began teaching high school
math in southern California. Eric’s musical influences range from Peaches
and Herb to Depeche Mode. He began listening to classic rock in his formidable
teenage years. This was followed by an unexplainable fascination with heavy
metal that has now been clouded by grunge and country music.
Bands
you may find in Eric’s CD collection are:
Rush, the Dixie Chicks, Anthrax, the Beatles, J.S. Bach, the Pet Shop Boys,
Jeff Buckley, 311, Black Sabbath, Kool and the Gang, the Greatful Dead, Nickel
Creek, and Bob Marley. Eric spends a lot of time trying to comprehend Denis
Chambers, and trying not to sound like Ginger Baker.
